The rosé wine Rendez-vous sous le chêne Rosé from the house Le Domaine Du Grand Jacquet is a fruity and vibrant rosé made mainly of Grenache grapes and has a beautiful salmon colour with a wonderful bouquet of white flowers, mint and stone fruits. The flavours are reminiscent of ripe pear and raspberries with a twist of lemon. 

The palate has a creamy texture and a pleasant acidity which makes it fresh and easy to drink on its own as well as together with a wide range of light dishes such as shrimps in garlic, chicken and salads. The house Le Domaine Du Grand Jacquet is located in Ventoux wine region in the southeastern part of the Rhône Valley in France.

The name `rendez-vous sous le chêne´ means `meeting under the oak tree´ which refers to an old tradition at Le Domaine Du Grand Jacquet. During harvest, every day begins with a gathering under a big oak tree next to the house to plan the day ahead.

Le Domaine Du Grand Jacquet is located between Carpentras and Mazan municiplities, on the slopes of the Ventoux mountain. The domain is owned by Patricia and Joël Jacquet who cultivate only 15 hectares of organic vines divided into small plots located in the middle of the wild scrubland, pines, truffle oaks and olive trees and a multitude of flowers and aromatic plants growing at the foot of the vines. The soil is rich in clay and limestone, which cools the soil and keeps its moisture in the hot climate. Patricia and Joël take care of each plot separately in accordance to the seasons and the Maria Thun Biodynamic Lunar Calendar. The Maria Thun Biodynamic Lunar Calendar is an approach to agriculture and horticulture which uses the waxing and waning of the moon and the position of the planets and constellations to determine when to sow and harvest.
The grapes are harvested by hand, striving to hit the exact right time of maturity, which differs from one plot to the next. The grapes are then fermented individually with respect to each terroir as closely as possible. The couple’s passionate, hard work shines through in the personality and quality of their wines. No wonder Le Domaine du Grand Jacquet was selected by the panel of the prestigious French newspaper Le Monde as a great example of the high and unique quality of wine we experience in Ventoux today.
