This organic white wine Riesling Terroir argilo-calcaire from François Lipp et Fils, located in Alsace in eastern France, is an aromatic, elegant, spicy and fresh wine made from high quality Riesling grapes. The vines grow in highly located, classified Grand Cru vineyards that get good exposure to the sun and where the soils are rich in clay, silt and limestone. The wine has a beautiful bright straw colour with a light green hue and an aromatic bouquet of green apple, spicy lemon custard a flinty, mineral notes. The medium-bodied, mouth-watering palate is rich in flavours of lemon and apple as well as stone fruit and the finish is long and pleasant. The ripe fruity notes are balanced with a high, vivid acidity, making the wine perfect as an aperitif on a hot summer day, but it is also quite a versatile wine when it comes to food pairing. Serve it at 8-10 ° C with seafood, sushi, poultry, cheese or spicy Asian dishes. The wine can be kept for 5 years or more.

The Lipp Family has been making wine for generations since 1790 in the historic village Husseren-les-Chateaux in the southern Alsace region Haut-Rhin, surrounded by vineyards on the slopes of the Vosges Mountains. The Haut-Rhin region has for the longest time been associated with the best vineyards of Alsace. We have here vineyards located at the highest altitude in the whole Alsace region, as well as most of the prestigious Alsace Grand Cru vineyards. The elevation of the vineyards is in many ways an advantage, especially when cultivating organic grapes with no use of chemical products to protect the vines from diseases. While the moist climate in Alsace is a challenge for wine growers located in the lower areas, the intense sun exposure on the high slopy location quickly dries the morning mist, always keeping the grapes healthy and in perfect condition.
