The wine Tabbor is the Friuli take on a "Super Tuscan", with a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. This deep ruby red wine from the northeast of Italy has a vigorous and warm style with aromas of violet, black cherries, and vanilla, and a lovely cascade of black currants, black pepper, cardamom, and chocolate flavors. It is dry with a pleasant acidity, harmonic and velvety with smooth tannins. The wine was matured for 12 months in French small oak barrels and the hearty style makes it perfect for grilled red meat with garlic and herbs, oven-baked root vegetables, and fatty, savory sauces such as Béarnaise.
Selezione di Piera is the premium series of the Piera 1899 Estate, and the wines are specially selected by Piera Martellozzo, one of the few female winery owners in the world. The series consists of three wines, Onedis, Milo, and Tabbor, and are created to span a whole dinner, from aperitif to the main course. Piera 1899 is passionate about being environmentally sustainable and respectful of nature throughout every process from wine growing, and vinification to packaging.
